October is Illinois Arts + Humanities Month

The Illinois Arts Council Agency and the Illinois Humanities Council are proud to present the 6th annual Illinois Arts & Humanities Month. Throughout October, all Illinoisans are encouraged to establish, deepen, and expand their relationships with the arts and humanities.

This is a time to reflect upon and celebrate the vital role of the arts and humanities in our individual and shared community life. AH! Month, an expansion of Illinois Arts Week begun in 1978, has lead to hundreds of communities and countless individuals across the Land of Lincoln to become more aware of our state's vast cultural resources and to appreciate their animating force, economic impact, and power to unite.

The David Adler Music and Arts Center is uniting art enthusiasts via monthly exhibitions hosting local and international artists from September through May. The Adler Center has kicked off our exhibition season with acclaimed artist Linda Kollacks, whose paintings can be seen in our gallery through October 3rd. We're proud to feature the fine quilting work of the Fiber Artist Coalition in the month of October. We'll host an opening reception on October 10th from 7pm-9pm for Milagros: "Little Miracles" showcasing the innovative textile art of the FAC.
